Aegon-CNOOC has been working with China’s Tmall.com to promote vehicle insurance product, Sui Xin Bao. In another industry first they’re making insurance available to customers aged up to 80 years old.

Three kinds of Sui Xin Bao products are sold on tmall.com, allowing customer to choose a comprehensive combination of accidental coverage or a single guarantee.

In order to give online customers the same experience as those shopping via traditional channels, the site makes clear that products should be purchased by customers who are located in regions that have an Aegon-CNOOC branch. This enables them to speak personally with an agent, in for example, a claim application.

The joint venture hopes to raise awareness around Aegon-CNOOC’ s brand and products, while letting customers enjoy the convenience of online insurance in combination with the quality of Aegon-CNOOC’s customer service.

“We obviously want to reach more customers with what we consider to be a unique product, so partnering up with one of the biggest e-commerce sites in China is a good move for us,” said Marco Groot Wassink, Executive Vice President of Aegon-CNOOC. “We believe that combining online convenience with face-to-face customer service is a winning ticket for this kind of product.”
